Rainy weather, part-time insomniac

I feel like words fail me now, and all thoughts and feelings that come with that statement? They are swiftly followed by the urge to just sleep and sleep and sleep. The rainy weather we’ve been having recently is like a slice of sunshine in my little corner of the world. I used to hate rainy days with passion, but I’ve come to appreciate it the older I grew.

I’ve been cobbling together some words for this romantic comedy I’ve been writing and it’s been rough lately. Why do the scenes look so good in my head, but when I write them I feel like something’s lacking? 😅 I think I have evolved into a creature who is just screaming words out into the void.

All right. Tangent comes to a full stop now. Who else here has been watching ongoing dramas (Korean dramas)? Please make yourself known, because I’d love to get to know more fellow kdrama fans.

I’ve been consuming

TikTok videos of bottles rolling down the stairs and then breaking. I’m late to the TikTok party, but apparently not too late when it comes to developing an unhealthy amusement and satisfaction on said videos. It has even come to the point where I will watch bottles break and name people who I think represent those bottles.

“That one’s definitely the second born.”

“The youngest of the bunch. Definitely.”

“That’s Taylor Swift writing ‘All Too Well.'”

I’ve been watching

Why didn’t I know that “Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming” existed until recently? What rock have I been hiding in?

I think it has to be one of my favorites among the Whispering Corridors installment. (A fun fact that you didn’t ask for, but here we go: My other favorite is “Whispering Corridors 3: Wishing Stairs.”)

“Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming” felt disjointed but deliciously unsettling. I got a sinking feeling every time there were close-ups of the main characters and braced myself for the terrifying and disturbing things coming my way.

This film started with the arrival of the new vice-principal of an all-girls high school, Eun Hee. She wasn’t exactly all smiles and laughter, but you can tell she cared for the students. Throw into the mix an urban legend in Sebit High School, where a ghost supposedly haunts a forbidden, closed-off bathroom, and the uncovering of what awful things some students have gone through.

I really liked the storyline and the characters, even the villains. Eun Hee’s flashbacks can sometimes get confusing, but it all comes together in the end. If you like horror that’s unsettling and one that comes with a forgivable number of jump scares, I highly recommend this film.

July so far, in photo

We’re halfway through July. I hope the month has been kind to you. And if it isn’t, I hope the rest of the year is. Let’s take it one day at a time. Don’t forget to take care of yourself, too. Get enough sleep. Rest when your mind and body demand it. Stay hydrated. Stay sane and lovely.

Here. Some virtual confetti to help brighten your weekend. 😁
