I just take as much as you can throw

Hey, stranger. How have you been? It’s me. The problem and also an absentee blogger. My last post was November 2022 and oh wow. How dare the five-month radio silence? The nerve! The cheek! Well  more like the low energy that no caffeine in the world can save.

The past five months have been a blur; sometimes a blackhole. Even my personal journal (written longhand! because I am a throwback like that!) were merely blips in my timeline. I have consumed kdrama and music. I have stayed up late in the night, watching the stories in my head instead of writing them down. I have written a romcom (still ongoing  but I’ll get to that later). And some days, I slept for 10 hours. That’s mostly the memories I have of the past five months.

Not to say that those are my only memories…

October things: Kdrama romcoms and thrillers + my first ever published story

This month was an abysmal one for blogging. There’s a reason behind it  but I think it’s best saved for another time. On the bright side: While being an absentee blogger  my writing side projects were  for the most part  going okay. There really are clients who are so hard to deal with when it comes to payments. Aside from problematic clients  Iím proud to say that my writing (copywriting and fiction writing) has been prolific. I’m sure Grammarly would be proud of me  too. My initial plan back in September was to focus on my kdrama website, Ramyeon & Reviews. I had my content calendar all ready for October. I had so much fun searching for and piecing together blog topics! But things happened and I had to push back all the fun and creepy posts. Who’s up for Nightmarish November instead?

It feels SO GOOD as I type this down. It feels like forever since I last blogged. I figured Iíd drop by here and fill you in with what made October worth it.

First Two Episodes, First Impressions: “My Roommate is A Gumiho”

Their meet-cute was a disaster, but at least it was a hilarious disaster.

This is where the story of “My Roommate is a Gumiho” started: When Lee Dam accidentally hit Shin Woo Yeo with her hand, she ended up swallowing his fox bead. Because Lee Dam now carries the fox bead, she and Woo Yeo (the gumiho) decided to live together until they both find a way to get it out of Lee Dam’s body.

Forced cohabitation is one of my favorite tropes and these two just keep the laughter coming with their antics. One hilarity after another follow them, whether together or apart. But especially together. I actually don’t know who to feel more sorry for: The gumiho who has to put up with Lee Dam and her carefree attitude and sometimes rash actions or Lee Dam who practically lives quaking in fear from living under the same roof as the 999 year-old gumiho. 😂 “My Roommate is a Gumiho” is the perfect romcom to balance all my other horror/thriller/murder mystery kdramas. It’s light, fun, and funny. Here are some of the things I loved about it and caught my interest:
