The week that was

Hello, fair folks! 👋🏼 How was your week? Mine was rough (health wise), but a trip to the ER painted some color to it because of a funny incident. I also spent some time with my geeky side, all satisfied and delighted with my shiny new toys.

I was sent to the hospital operating room by mistake

Trick or treat! 😆 Last week has been rough in terms of health, to the point that I had to go to the ER. I don’t know what the ER doctor was thinking when she and I had a brief conversation, but the next thing I knew a guy was wheeling me from the ER to the OR. Turns out the people in the Operating Room thought I was going to have an emergency surgery.

I’m glad everything was sorted out with the OR doctor. She listened to what I had to say, understood the assignment, and sent me back down to the ER. I was impressed with that OR doctor. She listened, understood, and then clarified with us the details. All in under five minutes.

A death wish (someone else’s)

At past three in the morning, I watched a sedan narrowly miss an oncoming truck. The car zigzagged as it dodged the huge truck.

Witnessing that shaved off about four months of my life.

Shiny new toys

I’ve been tinkering around Obsidian. It’s been quite some time since I played around with a new tool, or as a former colleague once said, “toy.” 😁 I like it so far. It’s simple, straightforward, and gets the job done. I think I’ll be using this in the long run, together with Notion.

I also set up TinaCMS locally because I wanted to run my blog with a less clunky CMS. Only to realize that I actually need things I have in my current blog. I’m still interested and curious about TinaCMS, though. So I’ll probably use that for a different blog or website.

I finally updated my Polywork site and I love it! I made it my go-to site in my résumé and I have never been prouder of myself, because Polywork made it look so cool. It displays more than my professional side. It also has tags like “bookworm” and “seen some shit.” It’s fun because it shows different aspects of who you are, not just what you are when it comes to work.

I hope your weekend was the best ever, whether you celebrated Halloween or not. 🎃 This side of the world, we have three days of holidays this week. I’m pretty excited to take that time to start with NaNoWriMo. I’ll probably talk your ear off about that in some future posts. 😁 Until then, don’t forget to hydrate, take some naps, and get some exercise. Health is wealth. 😉
