Halfway through episode four of OCN’s new kdrama, “Dark Hole”, and this was what’s been playing in my head the whole time:
So far, we have:
- A psychopath serial killer on the loose
- A mysterious black smoke that brings the worst out in people and then turns them into something akin to zombies. (They call them “mutants” in the show, though.)
- A shaman who will do anything to get her powers back
- A group of high school bullies
- A cult that’s frightening on its own
Each of these things are already scary on their own. But what happens when all these occur, one after another? Sometimes I wonder where will I be in the kdrama if that was reality. Will I be out there in the woods with the bullies, surveying the so-called mysterious sink hole 🕳 , unaware of its fatal threat to humanity? And when it comes to choosing which place I will shelter in, would I choose the hospital or the school? Perhaps stay with the cult in their building, with their homegrown water and large cross and their mumblings of “I believe!”?
