Today’s post was meant to be different than this. I wanted my usual kdrama report. My usual horror recommendations. I wanted to gush more about the kdrama perfection that is “Destined With You.” But, well, here we are.
If you’re going through a rough time, an exhausting time, and you feel beaten and all worn out: Please stay strong.
Staying strong doesn’t mean carrying the whole world on your back. You don’t have to. Its weight will only crush you. Stay strong by taking things one day at a time. Take only what you can for the day.
Staying strong doesn’t mean always putting on a brave face for everyone to see. Stay strong by taking the time to cry if you want. Allow yourself moments of sadness, even grief. But don’t stay in that moment too long. There are still so many things to uncover and discover; most of the good. Most of them full of hope.
You owe yourself a better chance in life. You owe yourself new and wonderful experiences. Moments and things and people that will make you smile again. Hold on to yourself. Hold on to your strength.
It may look bleak and dreary now. Everything feels heavy. Acknowledge that weight of grief and pain. Then each day, start moving. Start doing things that will make today different from yesterday. Even if it’s something mundane like tidying your closet or making your favorite coffee. Even if it’s something as simple as taking the time to have a relaxing bubble bath or a run around the block. Small wins are still wins. Keep going at it.
One day at a time. I hope you give yourself permission to take a rest and take each day as it comes, giving you space and time to heal.
