So! We’re almost halfway through November. Almost but not quite. How’s everyone feeling? I’ve always wanted to experience fall and winter, but I only get rainy days and cool nights this side of the globe. Inflation is a pain in the ass and purchasing power is a joke.
December can’t come soon enough. But hey! Forward march!
Weekend plans: Kicking back with the 90
90s horror that is. There’s something nostalgic yet creepy when looking back at the things that used to terrify you when you were young.
I’m still not feeling 100% well. The world around me tilts and shifts at random times. I don’t trust myself to step out of the house just yet. The best I can do are grocery runs and the needed trips to the doctors.
Luckily, staying holed up at home is my lifestyle. It’s my jam. For this weekend, I pick bonding with my inner child by watching a local horror show called “Magandang Gabi… Bayan.” When I was a kid, I remember us gathering around the TV, glued to watching the show, fascinated and scared at the same time. Stories about ghosts and creepy creatures filled our minds and we wanted more. I truly love horror stories even back then.
I should not be left to my own devices
November greeted me with another trip to the hospital, which also happened back in October. I hope December will be better. I’m not sure which part of my body isn’t getting the memo that hospitals are not fun places to go to.
On the bright (and completely unrelated to health) side: I’ve been looking into freelance or part-time jobs. Mostly on writing and web design or web management. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic that competition is really high, but I have yet to land new clients. In the meantime, I’ve been polishing my website and portfolio.
“The Secret Wife”, a romcom that I’m writing, is still being published in Patreon. It’s just started and we’re just getting to the fun part. I’m in the process of creating a couple of things for that story. So if fluffy romcoms are your thing, stay tuned!
Kdrama updates: Wrap-ups and brand spanking new
October was a great month for kdramas. At least for me. It gave me a great thriller like “Blind” and a gripping fantasy thriller liked “The Golden Spoon.” I have yet to find a crime mystery that’s done as perfectly as “Beyond Evil”, though. Here’s a list of my favorite kdramas that were released last month:
This November I started watching “May I Help You” and “Curtain Call.” Both are enjoyable to watch. The main couple in “May I Help You” started out flat for me, but the series became more enjoyable as the story unfolded. I was bracing myself for pure drama with “Curtain Call” but instead got goofy but endearing Kang Haneul. Yes, this series has its dramatic scenes but the funny ones manage to place a nice balance to it. It comes off as touching and funny and I enjoy watching it, much to my surprise
Mentally, I’m somewhere where leaves are changing their colors and the temperature is starting to get cold. Like 20ºC cold. Yeah, that’s cold enough for me.
I hope that wherever you are, you’re having one fine weekend. Stay safe, folks. Stay safe.
