This post brought to you by that languishing limbo where creativity and laziness intersect. Got insomnia? Try listening to a horror podcast that’s three hours long, narrated by someone with a mesmerizing voice. And said someone can lull to sleep even the best of the night owls around the world. (Make no mistake. The podcast is great and the narrator is good. I really enjoy it. You can listen to it here.)
Clickety-clack! Maybe not too much, though…

Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for The Perfect Keyboard TM and it’s all thanks to my sister who made me aware that there are more to keyboards than I actually know about. I’ve been looking into different mechanical keyboards and I’ve settled with Akko 3068, pink switch. I’m not too crazy about loud clicky sounds, so the softer ones are perfect for me. Who knew the world of mechanical keyboards can be interesting? So far, here are some of the things I’ve discovered:
- Keyboards come in different sizes, such as 65% and Tenkeyless (TKL).
- Their backlight effects are awesome. (See video below.)
- Different keyboards have different switches.
- Different switches have different levels of loudness and they are categorized by colors.
- Blue switch is loud; I know pink and orange are some of the less loud ones. Also red.
- They also have the “silent” ones, though. Example: Cherry MX Silent Red and Gateron Silent Red and Black.
- And lastly, two words: linear and tactile.
“To actuate a linear switch, you must push it all the way down, like a membrane key. To actuate a tactile switch, you usually push it about halfway down; you can continue pressing the key after that, but you can also take your finger off and move to the next key right away.”
Tom’s Guide
You can even modify your mechanical keyboard! Swap all the keys with a completely new design or just pick a couple of keys to change. Doing that really gives your keyboard a more personal feel.

Current kdramas: Mostly Thrillers; One Involves Doom Himself
Anyone who knows me or is following me on Twitter is aware of my fixation and fascination with murder mystery and horror/thriller kdramas. And I am happy to say that 2021 has been feeding me really well with such awesome, AWESOME kdramas. My absolute all-time favorite is “Beyond Evil” and I know I will rewatch it sooner or later. Right now, I am juggling these:
MOUSE
I am at the last episode of “Mouse” and have not read any spoilers. While I love this kdrama, there are times when I feel like the writers are throwing in too many and too much plot twists. It’s like “Mouse” ran on the adrenaline of plot twists. I was thinking that given Ba Reum’s moral dilemma, things are not going to end well for him. Highly likely, given the tone of this kdrama. What’s so good about this show is the characters. They’re all very interesting and I got invested in them as the show unveiled one intense episode after another.
TAXI DRIVER
I always thought that “Taxi Driver” is more tragic and heartbreaking than anything else. The fight between justice and vengeance held me captivated as well. And the main characters’ back stories are just so sad and tragic. Murder, suicide, bullying. This kdrama tackles with dark topics and some episodes can get pretty heavy. Proceed with caution if those are your triggers.
DARK HOLE
“Dark Hole” is another intense kdrama. As if the mutants weren’t enough to keep you on your toes, some of the people are not any better. So far, we’ve got a murderer hiding in plain sight in a hospital, an egomaniacal school director, a man who belongs to a gang and is up to no good, a shaman who would do anything to gain back her powers, and even a high school student who is not only annoying but threatening as well. Were I in that show, I’d have dropped dead from exhaustion because of these people. Who needs mutants to kill you when you’ve got this band of good-for-nothing human beings stressing you out every waking moment?
DOOM AT YOUR SERVICE
Last, but never the least, is this fantasy romance with a hint of death and destruction lurking at its fringes. “Doom at Your Service” is one heck of a show and in a good way. Where do I start with what to love about it?
- Doom himself, all snarky and arrogant but also soft and wounded? (Possibly also traumatized.)
- The female lead, Dong Kyung, who started out meek but then started learning to stand up for herself?
- The storyline circling on deities and the mystery of how they work?
- How humor was not forgotten in the story? And well-timed, too, I should add.
- Doom and Dong Kyung’s forced cohabitation? (I was mesmerized with the set-up. How Dong Kyung’s home seamlessly melded with Doom’s dark and austere — but also beautiful — house. It was so funny when she kept opening doors only to find Doom in each and every one of them.)
I have one extra long weekend coming up and you bet it’s going to be spent catching up on these kdramas. It’s only Tuesday. We just had a full weekend. And yet I’m already pining for another weekend. Anyone else feels the same?
